Community Interfaith Labyrinth
The labyrinth is an ancient symbol, a collectively and anonymously fashioned design, shaped and given fuller meaning over time by hundreds of generations. -- Hermann Kern
On June 1, 2008, theTroy Interfaith Group dedicated its new labyrinth with a special service of words and song from representatives of many diverse faiths. The labyrinth has been a dream of some Northminster members for several years. With the formation of the Troy Interfaith Group, we learned many of our neighbors shared the same dream. Now that dream is a reality!
The labyrinth is a spiritual practice that goes back hundreds of years and crosses both continents and different faith traditions. For more about labyrinths, click on the labyrinth above and visit the Useful Links page.
The labyrinth is located on Northminster's north lawn. Enter the driveway from Big Beaver and park near the east entrance of the church. The pathway to the labyrinth leads off the driveway. Benches are available as a place to prepare for or reflect on your walk.
Watch this space for updates and pictures as they become available. We invite everyone to come and walk the spiritual path of the labyrinth.
